About Us
We acknowledge that insurance can be complicated and is not at the top of anyone’s list of favorite things to deal with. Our goal is to make the process as easy as possible.
Many agents feel that educating the client is a drain on their time or a burden. The fact is that no one wants to pay for something if they are unsure of what they are getting for their dollar. We feel that an educated client is the most satisfied client.
Ordner Insurance, as an independant insurance agency, represents multiple companies. Because we are independant we are able to offer the right combination of coverage and price to fit your particular situation.
Just fill out the request information located in the contact form (Click Here Button on left side) and we will contact you as soon as possible.
Meet The Founder:
Frank W. Ordner, Jr. was the proud owner and operator of Ordner Insurance until his death on January 14, 2022 from Covid-19.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Corydon. Frank was a former Grand Knight and past Faithful Navigator and one of the founding members of the 4th Degree Council 1808 of the Knights of Columbus in Harrison County, IN. He enjoyed attending National Reining Horse Association Shows.
Frank was born, raised and except for a brief stint when he went to college at the University at Evansville, lived in Corydon. He was proud of his town and the friends he had, most of which he either grew up with or had as a student. He attended the Harrison County Fair every year of his life up until the Covid pandemic. He also never missed the harness races during the fair. He could be seen in the grandstands every year since high school with his friend Jack Miles, who once told him, “The best thing he could do for his golf game was quit.” Frank enjoyed the game of basketball. He coached fifth grade boys’ and girls’ teams at CES. He loved watching IU basketball.
Frank was an avid historian and loved to research his ancestors, one of which was Francis (Frank) White Johnson, commander of the Texian Army during the Texas Revolution at the siege of Bexar (San Antonio).
For about the Last four years, he prepared meals at the K of C hall in Lanesville on Friday nights. The highlight of his later years was his grandkids. He loved nothing more than to spoil them rotten. He could even be seen going down a slide a time or two because he was “told” to by a grandchild. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. The passing of Frank has left a void in the heart of our family and the Community of Harrison County.
History:
Ordner Insurance was founded by Frank W. Ordner, Jr. in 2003. After working in the South Harrison Community School Corporation for over 30 years as a teacher, principal, vice principal, and basketball coach, Frank decided it was time to slow down and concentrate on his family and his reining horses. This is when he founded Ordner Insurance. Because of Frank’s love for his community, its members, and the reining horse industry, he turned what started as a small community single-agent independent insurance agency into a successful multi-agent agency that cares for insureds in over 25 states. It was Frank’s individual attention and interactions with the community that made Ordner Insurance successful. Oftentimes, meetings to inquire about insurance turned into reminiscing about the community and family members. Frank was truly loved by all who knew and interacted with him. Our goal at Ordner Insurance is to keep his legacy going. We strive to maintain the personalized attention you deserve when it comes to finding insurance. At Ordner Insurance, we want you to feel confident in your insurance decisions and as part of our family.
Introducing Christina:
Christina Ordner is a daughter-in-law of Frank Ordner who is married to his son, Robert (Bobby) Ordner. Her passion for horses led her to meet Bobby who shares the same love for horses and works as a part-time farrier.
Christina lives in Corydon, Indiana, and has been an agent with Frank since 2014, but until his death worked more behind the scenes. She worked as a high school special education teacher at Lanesville Jr./Sr. High School and varsity track coach.
Christina was a member of the United States Pony Clubs during her youth, spent several years working on an American Saddlebred farm through college, and currently rides reining horses. Her daughter shares her passion for horses and has joined Pony Club.
Christina loves her community and helping others. She works with a wide variety of insurance products. She can help you find coverage for your home, business, auto, farm/ranch, equine liability, or insure your beloved equine partner or other livestock members of your family.
Our Agents:
Meet Michelle:
Born and raised in an Air Force family, Michelle moved to Texas in 1974. She has always loved horses, learning to ride at a very young age.
After a 45–year break, she and her husband Sam purchased a young mare. When her horse suffered a fatal accident in 2015, Michelle discovered her passion for helping folks navigate the need for equine insurance – you can honestly say that she has “been there, done that” when it comes to the loss of our equine partners.
Michelle has enjoyed competing with the Stock Horse of Texas organization since 2013 and joined the Board in 2017.
Michelle and her husband currently reside in Brenham, Texas with their 2 dogs and 4 horses.
Meet Kyla:
Kyla Haydon is a Texas native with a passion for the equine industry and ranching lifestyle. This horse crazy little girl never outgrew her love for horses, and it shows with her career choices with experience as a equine breeding manager and time at the American Quarter Horse Association.
Kyla graduated with her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Texas A&M University and rode on the TAMU Stock Horse Team where she met her husband, Zach. Together, they now reside in Canyon, Texas and show Reined Cow Horse and Ranch Horse Versatility events.
Whether you are a weekend show warrior or full-time rancher, make sure you have an insurance agent that shares your same passion!
